Benefits of Using the Metal Tire Rack

Offers Great Durability

Tires can indeed be retained inside a metal tire rack for many years, but only when maintained correctly. Many tire experts recommend replacing tires six years after they were manufactured, regardless of the sole.

Ensure The Highest Possible Quality

A metal tire rack is a type of industrial storage device that’s also made primarily of a hard material. Manufacturing tire storage racks is not only durable, but it can also meet your high-volume tire storage requirements. These stacking pallet racks are not only functional but also visually appealing.

Fulfills All Your Storage Needs

The openings on these tire racks differ from those on the previous ones. As a result, users can secure such shelves toward the ground. Wheels of various shapes and sizes can indeed be saved securely and effectively at high altitudes within those storage racks.

How to Use the Car Tire Storage Rack for Car Dealerships

For car dealerships, the metal tire racks should not be too high, generally 2 to 3 floors for manual access.

For warehouses used for tire manufacturers, the requirements are different. Warehouse storage will pay great attention to high space utilization. The upper space of the warehouse will also be used, and the number of layers of the car tire storage rack will increase. In addition, some auxiliary facilities need to be installed, such as partitions, auxiliary bars, etc. Generally, the tire storage racks in warehouses are used together with forklifts or elevators.

Customer Feedbacks

Jeffrey Mullen

Took less than five minutes to assemble. Come with instructions but you don’t need them. Works perfectly to hold 4 sets of drift tires or 2 sets of 1.9/2.2 tires. Different mounting holes for the tire holder round stock for adjustment. (More room in-between the two tiers) Can’t beat it for the price unless you have the material laying around your garage!

Tyler Ezell

Went together really well and is pretty sturdy when altogether also, I can fit six 4.19"x1.43" tires on the bottom row and five 4.64x1.84" tires on the top row. Very happy with the purchase and will be ordering more in the future.

Sylvie Leblanc

Bought and installed this tire rack to store SUV winter tires and rims over the summer. Installation was easy, the top rail offers mounting holes to mount directly on the studs in your wall. The bottom rail offers very large diameter rubber bumpers that are supposed to press directly against the drywall, and I suppose the large diameter of 5" is meant to distribute the load. It all went together per the instructions. The rack installation part of the project is easy.

Common Problems

Q: What are the benefits of Tire storage?

A: You won't trip over them and hurt yourself.
Your garage won't be embarrassing when friends come over.
You won't mark up your car doors when getting in and out.
You won't hurt yourself trying to move them around. Tires are heavy!

Q: How high should you mount a Tire Rack?

A: If you are very tight on garage storage space, yet have plenty of ceiling height, consider mounting your rack at 6' 6" to 7' 0" from the bottom of the rack above the floor so you can walk under it. Safe headroom clearance is the key to mounting the tire rack up high.

Q: Does tire rack balance wheels?

A: Rest assured that our mobile tire technicians will properly mount and balance your tires as part of your installation service.

Q: How can I maintain my tires while stored on a rack?

A: Cleanliness: Keep tires free of dirt and debris.
Temperature: Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Rotation: Periodically rotate tires to prevent flat spots.
Inflation: Maintain recommended pressure to prevent sidewall damage.
Cover: Use tire covers to shield from UV rays and ozone.

Q: Do tire racks come with warranties?

A: Yes, tire racks typically come with warranties offered by manufacturers or retailers. Warranties often cover defects in materials or workmanship and may vary in duration and coverage specifics. Checking with the specific manufacturer or retailer will provide details on the included warranty.

Q: How long do tires last on a Tire Rack?

A: All tires (including spare tires) manufactured more than ten (10) years previously should be removed from service and be replaced as a precaution, even if such tires appear serviceable and have not reached the legal wear limit.

Q: How much weight can a tire storage rack hold?

A: The weight capacity of a tire storage rack varies depending on its design and specifications. Generally, these racks can hold several hundred pounds to over a thousand pounds per tier.

Q: Are tire storage racks adjustable?

A: Yes, many tire storage racks are adjustable. They often feature adjustable shelves or slots to accommodate various tire sizes, making them versatile for different vehicles and storage needs.

Q: What is the use of storage rack?

A: Used for short- or long-term placement of materials, products and loads in a facility, storage racks hold items in an organized area.

Q: What are storage racks made of?

A: In conclusion, the material used for storage racks depends on the storage needs, the space available, and the load capacity. Steel is the preferred material for heavy loads, while aluminum is best for lighter loads, and plastic storage racks are ideal for light-duty storage and damp environments.

Q: What is the most popular type of tire storage rack?

A: Selective racking is the most common and versatile pallet racking type. It's simpler, works with many types of materials, doesn't require special forklifts or other equipment, and is cheaper than other racking types. It also provides efficient use of space and immediate access to every load stored.

Q: What kind of steel are racks made of?

A: There are two types of steel used in the manufacturing of pallet rack components: roll-formed steel and structural steel.

Q: What is the difference between rack storage and shelf storage?

A: Racking generally spans a wider space, is deeper and is stacked higher than shelving. It is built and installed in a manner that makes it possible to access materials - such as large boxes or entire pallets of goods - with cherry pickers, forklifts or mechanized systems that move materials down to ground level.

Q: How do you measure a tire storage rack?

A: The first measures the depth of the rack. While other measurements begin on the inside dimension, you will need to measure the outside dimensions for this one. Measure the depth from one outside edge of the frame to the other (outside) edge. The dimension on a standard rack upright frame should be between 36’ and 48’ .

Q: What is the standard height of a tire storage rack?

A: There is no standard upright height. Uprights are usually manufactured in 2' increments, from 8’ to 24’ tall. However, uprights can theoretically be manufactured or cut to any height as long as the upright is sufficiently strong to hold the intended load.

Q: What is the height to depth ratio of a storage rack?

A: To calculate the HTD ratio, divide the measured height of the pallet rack from the floor to the top surface of the highest load-supporting beam level by the depth of the frame.

Q: How many rack units is a standard tire storage rack?

A: 42U. One U is 1.75 inches (44.45mm); the standard rack, at 19 inches, is 42U. Rack servers and other hardware designed to be rack-mounted are manufactured in multiples of 1.75 inches and specified in multiples of rack units, usually 1U, 2U, 3U or 4U. Racks are designed to hold equipment of those sizes.

Q: Can I use a tire rack for commercial purposes?

A: Yes, you can use a tire rack for commercial purposes. Ensure it meets safety standards and local regulations. Regular inspections and proper maintenance are crucial for safety and longevity.

Q: How do I clean and maintain my tire rack?

A: To clean and maintain your tire rack, regularly remove dust and debris with a soft brush or cloth. Inspect for rust or corrosion, addressing with a rust remover if needed. Check tire pressure often and store tires away from direct sunlight to prevent degradation.
